Auckland Airport new Domestic Jet Terminal – in progress

The current domestic terminal is at capacity, meaning Auckland Airport is building an integrated terminal with domestic jet and international operations combined into a single, fully connected facility. Located on the eastern end of the existing international terminal, the new domestic jet terminal will provide 75,000 m² of domestic jet operations within an overall terminal development. The overall programme represents New Zealand’s largest private infrastructure build, with the domestic jet terminal to be completed in 2029.

To design and build an extensive fire protection system including the following:

1.       Automatic Fire Alarm System

2.       Sprinkler System, boosted by a diesel & electric pump

3.       Hydrant Riser System

4.       Fire Water Supply Tanks

5.       EWIS (Evacuation Warning Intercom System)

6.       Multiple Aspirating Smoke Detection Systems

7.       Multiple Linear Heat Detection Systems

MPI PHEC Facility

Southbase Construction

A new secure bio-containment facility that is designed to enhance New Zealand’s biosecurity system and support horticultural export industry.  Spanning over 10,500m2, this facility will include advanced laboratories, greenhouses, and a modern workplace hub.  With the aim of doubling MPI’s capacity to process and contain imported plant material, and continue to protect our environment and primary industries. Completion due 2029.

To design and build an extensive fire protection system including the following:

 

  1. Automatic Fire Alarm System

  2. Sprinkler System, boosted by a diesel & electric pump

  3. Hydrant Riser System

  4. 2 x Water Mist Systems

  5. 2 x Automatic Gas Suppression Systems

Carlaw Park Student Village Stage 4 – in progress

Haydn & Rollett

This significant new student accommodation facility will offer 964 self-contained studio apartments. With a covered pedestrian connection to Stuart McCutcheon House, students will have the benefit of accessing a variety of expansive communal areas, including purpose-built music rooms, games rooms, study spaces, lounges and a theatre. This will be the largest student accommodation facility in New Zealand.

Completion due early 2028.

New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC)

The Fletcher Construction Company Ltd

At approx. 90,000sqm (including carparking), NZICC is the largest conference, exhibition & entertainment centre in New Zealand.  Spanning over 4 levels, the Centre has dedicated spaces for exhibitions, meetings & entertainment theatres.  After a devastating fire on the site in 2019, the rebuild was completed near the end of 2025.

To design and build a fire protection system including the following:

  3. Gas Floods Systems

ADHB Auckland City Hospital Central Plant & Tunnel

McConnell Dowell

A new five-storey, 5,230m2 building, constructed adjacent to the Ronald McDonald House is a base-isolated facility ensuring strength against seismic events and other natural disasters.  Included as part of this project is a new 210m services tunnel which connects essential hospital buildings, ensuring uninterrupted medical supply connections and services in emergencies.

To design and build an extensive fire protection system including the following:

 

  1. Automatic Fire Alarm System

  2. Sprinkler System, boosted by a diesel & electric pump

  3. Hydrant Riser System

University of Auckland Wellness & Recreation Centre

Hawkins

A 6-level development with various fitness facilities, including weight rooms, cardio spaces, sport halls, and running tracks. The basement level contains a swimming pool, squash courts, and a carpark, which is accessed via Princes Street. The roof (Level 6) provides the multifunction of fitness and student breakout space.

To design and build a fire protection system including the following:

Commercial Bay

The Fletcher Construction Company Ltd

A 39-level office tower and 3-level retail space, Commercial Bay is one of Auckland’s largest mixed-use space buildings. This design-and-build project was completed in 2020.

To design and build a fire protection system, including the following:

WDHB Totara Haumaru 

Hawkins Construction

Tōtara Haumaru is New Zealand’s newest hospital facility and the largest development at North Shore Hospital in 50 years. This four- storey hospital building is situated adjacent to the existing Elective Surgery Centre and connected to existing hospital facilities via a sky bridge. The 19,700m2 facility boasts up to eight additional operating theatres, four new endoscopy suites, and 150 new beds, and has been built to an Importance Level 4 (IL4) rating, meaning that in the event of a disaster, such as an earthquake, the building will remain operational.

Three residential blocks all sharing a common podium and basement. The podium, located on the Ground Floor, is a mixed- use space including storage, commercial, communal dining, communal laundry, recreation, offices, plant rooms, medical, computer room, and multifunctional spaces.

6-8 Munroe Lane

A 9-level building development located at 6-8 Munroe Lane, Albany. The building is primarily commercial office space on the Ground Floor and Levels 2 to 6, with carparking spaces from the Basement to Level 2. There is also a café on the Ground Floor and a food-and-beverage tenancy on Level 1.

To design and build a fire protection system, including the following:

The Pacifica

At a height of 178 metres, The Pacifica is a 57-level apartment & hotel tower. The hotel occupies the first six floors of the building, with the remaining levels being 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments. Construction was completed in 2020.
